Disciple has launched a kickstarter campaign for their upcoming album Long Live The Rebels.
“Everyone wants to be a part of something that is bigger than them. And that’s exactly what the body of Christ is. In the body of Christ every part is important, and every part is powerful,” Disciple said of their choice to invite fans into the process of creating the album for the second time. “Music is one of those powerful forces that God uses to change the world, one life at a time. When we started Disciple we wanted to play music that would impact people’s lives, and that mission has never been stronger than it is today.”
This is the band’s second album funded by kickstarter, following 2014’s first independent release ATTACK ATTACK, which fans supported at over $115,000 raised. The crowd funding campaign for Long Live The Rebels is launching just as the band finishes recording the songs, wrapping up studio time in Nashville with veteran producer Aaron Sprinkle (Thousand Foot Krutch, Anberlin, Demon Hunter). The album is currently slated for a tentative release date of late this year.
Long Live the Rebels is an album title that captures one of the core values of Disciple’s mission: “while the world goes their way, we are the rebels who will walk the other way. We are the rebels who will change the world.” It’s a mission the band is intent on inviting their listeners to join. “We’re asking you to join us, to stand with us as we combine the power of music with the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ, to change this world, one life at a time.”
The kickstarter campaign caps off a busy summer, which has seen Disciple playing festivals across the United States as well as in Denmark and Norway. The band also released part of their Denmark set as a free live EP via Noisetrade (get it here). In addition to the album release, the rest of 2016 will see Disciple joining RED on their End of Silence 10th Anniversary Tour.
